It’s been a while since I picked up a crochet hook. Seeing way cute white crochet skirts on some young sisters from my congregation prompted me to get started on this one. Plus, over the last several days I have been wearing the heck out of my black Brussels skirt. Oh, I had a nice, long, knit skirt that I have been wearing since the 80’s. Like a Timex watch my black knit skirt has taken a licking and kept on ticking. I am about to put it out of its misery.
I tried to stretch the piece so you could see the pattern. So pretty, so feminine. Remember my thrift store finds the other day? Well, I didn’t tell you that the skeins above were included. After working about eight rows of this skirt I had used up a whole skein. I knew I would need more. Remembering that I had not purchased all the skeins there off I went. Lo and behold there were about four or five more skeins, YAY! Hopefully I have enough to complete this pretty skirt. It is crochet cotton and should be easy to find in case there is not enough in my stash. Perhaps if I get an outdoor shot I can get a better photo of the pattern in this skirt. I am going to line it for strength, durability, and modesty. If I can somehow trick my mind into not minding the repetitive nature of the pattern I can see more of these babies in the future in pastel colours like coral.
Stay tuned for the Lyrically styled completed skirt!
